Samantha is a senior at Indiana University pursuing an undergraduate degree through the School of Public Health majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and minoring in Psychology. Her goal is to get a Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy specializing in Pediatrics. In her years at Indiana University she has served as the President of the Occupational Therapy Club and has been actively engaging in the Best Buddies program as well as volunteering at the Middle Way House. The experiences from these organizations have inspired her to specialize in pediatrics. She will continue to work with Healthy Development Lab and further her research skills throughout the year.
Samantha won the People’s Choice Award at the 6th annual Women’s Research Poster Competition organized by the IU Center of Excellence for Women in Technology (CEWiT). The title of her poster is “Effects of Parental Practices during High School on Subsequent Smartphone Dependency in College”.
